I made a mobile!

Fiz um móbil para uma bebé recém-nascida!
Foi a nossa prenda para a primeira filha de uns amigos nossos.
Já tinha algo do género em mente desde que soube da gravidez e há uns meses, comecei a trabalhar nisso. Lembram-se?

Primeiro, desenhei as personagens e depois foi cortar o feltro, coser e enchê-los com espuma. Foi divertido.
Optei por animais cheios de cor, já que nos primeiros anos de vida de um bebé, é importante que este se encontre rodeado de cores fortes e estimulantes. E os animais são das primeiras coisas que aprendemos! Os sons, os nomes, etc...


I made a mobile for a newborn!
It was our gift to the first child of a couple of our friends.
I had something like this in mind since I first heard of the pregnancy and I started working on it a few months ago.

First, I drew the characters and then it was all about cutting the felt, sewing it and fill them with foam. It was a lot of fun.
I went with colourful animals because it is important that children are sorrounded by vibrant and stimulating colours in their first few years of life. And animals are one of the first things we learn! The sounds they make, their names, etc...

 

Para segurar o móbil num gancho, fiz uma trança colorida de fio para tricotar.

Para as partes que seguram os bonecos, usei restos de polipropileno que aqui tinha.

É leve, resistente e por ser transparente vai ficar bem em qualquer cenário :)

To hold the mobile on a hook, I made a braid out of knitting thread.

For the parts holding the figures, I used polypropylene leftovers I had at home.

It's a light and resistant material and because it is see-through it will look good anywhere :)
