Embrulhos e laços DIY

Como devem ter reparado, ultimamente ando numa de DIY.

Comecei pelos presentes e rapidamente isso se espalhou para os respectivos embrulhos e laçarotes.

Por mais que adore os papéis de embrulho que vejo nas lojas, custa-me estar a pagar por algo cujo tempo médio de vida é muito muito curto.

Por isso, resolvi aproveitar umas revistas velhas que para aqui tinha e comecei a procurar imagens que me apelassem como papel de embrulho. Devo dizer que o resultado ficou espectacular. A minha preferida é, sem dúvida, o embrulho preto e branco. Parece um céu de nuvens e estrelas, mas na verdade são apenas faíscas num local de obras. Glamoroso, não?

As you may have noticed, lately I've been in a DIY-mood.

It started out with the presents but I quickly started to think about DIY-ing the wrapping paper and the bows as well.

As much as I love the wrapping papers I see at the stores, it's hard for me to pay for something whose life span is very very short.

So I decided to use some old magazines and started to search for images and pages that appealed to me as wrapping paper. I must say the results came out spectacular. My favourite is, by far, the black and white one. It looks like a starry sky with some clouds, but in reality it's just some sparkles and a construction site. Glamorous, huh?

Quanto aos "laços", tudo começou com uma tentativa de enriquecer a árvore de Natal.

Comecei por fazer uma estrela em origami e no final pensei: «isto dava era um belo enfeite para um presente...».

Esqueci a árvore (até porque os origamis ficavam pequenos demais em comparação) e continuei a procurar tutoriais para os outros presentes. E foi tudo feito com post-its que aqui tinha.

Até agora tenho uma estrela (ainda sem presente), um grou, um Pai Natal, um coração e um dinossauro.

Mas hão-de vir mais... Prometo fotos!

As for the "bows", it all started as a way to make my Christmas tree richer.

I began by making an origami star and in the end I thought: «now this would be great as a present bow...».

I forgot about the tree (also because the origamis came out too small in comparison) and kept on searching for tutorials for the remaining gifts. And I made them all with some post-its I had.

So far I have a star (with no present yet), a crane, a Santa Claus, a heart and a dinosaur.

But there will be more... I promise I'll show you the pictures!

And I also promise I'll show you pictures of the DIY gifts that are inside these lovely packages...

PS: Quão bem ficou o dinossauro naquele papel com cenário de savana? Não foi propositado, mas quando me apercebi, adorei a coincidência!

PS: How well did that dinosaur turned out over that savannah backgroung? It wasn't deliberate, but when I realized it, I just loved the coincidence!
